Prof. Dr. Veysel Eroğlu Accompanied President Erdoğan In African Tour

Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs continues giving support to Africa on water supply. Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs accompanied the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during African Tour and attended the handover ceremony of water drilling equipment which has been granted to Djibouti.

Groundbreaking Ceremony Of Istanbul Square And Ahmet Mazhar Bey Monument Of Martyrs

President of Turkey was welcomed in an official ceremony in Ethiopia by Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn. Erdoğan attended Turkey-Ethiopia business forum and then received honorary doctorate certificate from Addis Ababa.

In his second stop during African Tour, Erdoğan participated in the groundbreaking ceremony of Istanbul Square and Ahmet Mazhar Bey the Monument of Martyrs.

Opening Ceremony Of Airport Terminal Building And Training/Research Hospital

President Erdoğan signed bilateral agreements regarding energy, mining, youth and sports, marine transportation and defense industry in Somalia. Erdoğan also attended the opening ceremony of airport terminal and training and research hospital.

Granting Of Equipment To Djibouti

Ministry of Foresty and Water Affairs (MFWA) enabled 1.6 million people to access safe drinking water in Africa by means of drilling wells in the recent years. MFWA also granted drilling equipment to Djibouti for water supply.

As per the bilateral cooperation agreement on “water and forest” signed by and between Djibouti and Turkey on 13th May 2014, Prof. Dr. Eroğlu attended the handover ceremony of drilling equipment to Djibouti on 24th January 2015.

During his speech at the ceremony, Eroğlu said “we are a big family and we, as Turkey, wish to use water as an instrument of peace. We are supporting Africa on behalf of humanity. Therefore, we provided safe drinking water to 1 million 600 thousand people living in the continent. We will move forward do our best. I wish and believe all delivered equipment to be used for serving to meet the requirement of local residents.
